These Shining Lives
These Shining Lives chronicles the strength and determination of women considered expendable in their day, whose true stories are as relevant today as they were in the 1920s. The play follows the lives of four women who worked at the Radium Dial Company in Ottawa, Illinois, painting watch dials with radium paint. Despite being told the paint was safe, they suffered from radium poisoning, which led to their deaths. Their fight for justice against the company that knowingly exposed them to this deadly substance is a powerful story of courage and perseverance.
